Web Designer and Developer.
My name is Gary and I’m a designer and web developer based out of the twin cities of Minnesota. Creative exploration has been my lifelong passion with my journey beginning as a musician. I left High School at 16 to complete a music degree and in my early 20’s I played guitar for a band who reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. My interests eventually shifted to film-making, photography and other visual mediums which have refueled my passion for creative energy.
The following work below includes a mix of professional, personal, and school projects that showcase my design and coding skills. Please contact me with any comments, questions, or ideas how I can help you.
This site was designed for my own photography brand I created called Modern Pixel. Truth be told, I don't have a photography business so I designed around an idea and vision for one. As you can see from this portfolio site, the colors have stuck with me.
These design mockups were created with Illustrator and Photoshop. I later recreated these designs in Adobe XD to create a clickable prototype. You can check that out HERE or just click through the gallery below.
My primary responsibility while working for Ekcetera Design and Marketing is to design and develop membership courses for clients. The login page in particular is a great opportunity for creativity along with the challenge of adhering to brand guidelines.
These mockups were created in Photoshop and later developed in WordPress with Beaver Builder and tons of custom CSS
The following images are design mockups of landing and sales pages for Ekcetera and freelance clients. I designed these in Photoshop using client-provided images.

This application allows the user to gather multiple sources of information on their favorite bands and artists through a single search field. This was accomplished by using AJAX requests from 4 API's.
This Rasmussen College project is a prototype my team built for a nutrition and exercise app geared toward implementing strong user-centered design principles. I served as team leader to organize content and ideas into the final presentation.
